Denise Shortt is a Harvard-educated writer, researcher and consultant specializing in gender issues and digital literacy. Denise co-authored the best-selling books, Technology with Curves: Women Reshaping the Digital Landscape (HarperCollins, 2000) and Innovation Nation: Canadian Leadership from Java to Jurassic Park (Wiley & Sons, 2002) and has written articles for various international books, magazines and journals. A former faculty member of Ryerson University, Denise helped launch the Diversity and IT Institute in the Faculty of Business and conducted award-winning research on gender and technology. Denise has spent the last 20 years keeping professional track of women’s evolution as digital citizens and is a co-founder and former President of Wired Woman Toronto. Denise was recently awarded a national leadership award as “Champion of Women’s Advancement” from Canadian Women and Communications.
